在无卤化推进前BFRs（Br flame retardants）占到了阻燃剂使用的36％以上；
PFR占29％；Antimony占：8％；Mineral占17％，其他阻燃剂占10％左右。
BFRs大概有75种以上，每一种都有判定优缺点；对于BFRs的阻燃剂一致被认为对于环境有影响。
PBBs：Polybrominated biphenyls
PBDEs：Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (oxides)
PBDEs包含：
Penta-BDE: pentabromodiphenyl ether, “pentabrom”
Octa-BDE: octabromodiphenyl ether, “octabrom”
Deca-BDE: decabromodiphenyl ether, “decabrom”
HBCD:Hexabromocyclododecane 主要应用在PS的泡沫、纺织品等
TBBPA – Tetrabromobisphenol A 主要应用在电路板中
Sb2O3 – Antimony Trioxide 主要和溴化阻燃剂一起使用
TCPP/TDCP:主要应用在PU泡沫中
